Bowie Ancestors Project
The Bowie Ancestors Project seeks to provide healing and closure to the descendant community of people who were enslaved on the Magruder Plantation in Prince George’s County (Maryland) through the acknowledgement and reburial of seven individuals of African descent who were originally buried in a cemetery on the Plantation.
If you believe that you may be a descendant of the community or if you have information about the African American communities that may be associated with the Bowie ancestral remains, please complete the contact form or email the project team directly at bowie-ancestors-project@umd.edu.
